Consciousness

A several part series on the Physics of Consciousness

Is consciousness important? After all of my research and studying, I can honestly say, I have no idea. But I know that neurophysicists, molecular biologists, cellular chemists and others are getting closer and closer to an understanding. I believe it to be of such importance that I have decided to write a series of articles detailing the current understandings of consciousness. We can put together a lot of different ideas of the WHAT of consciousness and the HOW of consciousness, even WHEN we are conscious or not, but we are still searching for the”holy grail” of WHY

I am a Biblical scientist in that: 1) I am a person who has studied intensely and have a well-rounded knowledge in several of the natural sciences and, 2) I believe in the inerrancy of the Bible and its role in the understanding of all that exists in the universe.

The interesting thing is that within the articles I will be writing, I will occasionally state my Biblical view, however, the information being presented will in no way reflect either my worldview or the worldview of those who are “Neo-Darwinist’s” or naturalists or materialists.

I will be presenting facts from a wide range of scientific disciplines from which logical and only logical conclusions can be made from.

We will of necessity discuss some of the ancient philosophers whose discussions of the concepts of the mind and matter laid the groundwork for many of the scientific advances that have occurred. Early scientists and their discovery’s, while possibly overlooked back then, have leaped forward into the front of current research into what is the mind and how it works.

I have already started three web pages that will deal with definitions or a glossary of terms to be used. Some terms used by scientists do not always have the same common usage. Another page is for a listing of the laws, hypothesis, theories used and a link for further explanation. The third page is for short biographies of the important individuals discussed and their contributions.
